Right then, the usual trying to remember what we’ve been up since the last post. Always feels like quite a lot but seems to fade when trying to document…
First up Sebastian had his birthday party, ie. the one with his friends and not the compulsory one on his actual birthday. He netted a ridiculous number of presents (he still has a couple to open). I think next year we’ll either invite fewer people or suggest a £5 voucher so he can buy one or two presents. We went to Jakes Playworld which ensures tired, happy children and a relatively easy time for parents.
Lila had her birthday in early October and we went to Eighteen in Windsor for dinner. Not exactly crowded but they did a great fillet steak so I was happy enough. As usual I left buying Lila’s present until the last moment (for online delivery at least) and got sent the wrong watch twice – so that was a bit of a failure. Retrieved some points by buying a gift on the way home before we went for dinner.
We had a weekend in Kent – between Folkstone and Canterbury. Stayed Saturday night at the Rose & Crown in Elham which turned out to be a fantastic place to stay. Great dinner, good family room and a great breakfast in the morning.
Seb has been enjoying half-term last week. Back to school tomorrow. He’s had a busy weekend that included Despicable Me, Cockrow Railway and a Light Party at St John’s.
Looking ahead – Lila is joining NHS Professionals so she can work at St Peter’s hospital and her mum (Jola) is coming over to spend Christmas with us (when we also hope to see the Zajkowski clan).
